How do I use the bulk edit feature to change the owner of multiple projects?

The bulk edit feature of PowerSteering allows you to update multiple items at once in Project Central. This feature is an incredible time saver when you need to re-assign a user as the owner of multiple projects. This article describes how to use the bulk edit feature in Project Central to change the Owner of multiple projects.

1. Click Work Tree

  • On the Icon Bar click the Project button, select Work Tree.

2. Select Work Tree Location

  1. Navigate to the location where you want to do a bulk edit of projects.
  2. Click on the Work Tree location that you want to use for the bulk edit.

3. View Summary Page

  • View the Summary page for the organization you have selected. In this example we opened an organization called Operations that has several projects under it. We are going to use Project Central to bulk edit the Owner of these projects.

4. Click Project Planning

  1. On the Icon Bar click the Projects button, click Project Central to expand the menu.
  2. Click Project Planning.

5. Select Lines to Edit

  • Select the check boxes next to the project names you want to change the Owner of. You can also select the check box at the top of the list to select all items then select the individual lines you want to select or clear.

6. Click Actions

  1. Click Actions, select Bulk Edit.
  2. Click Apply.

7. Select Owner

Select Owner
  1. In the Owner field, start typing the name of the user you want to assign as the Owner on the selected projects.
  2. Click the name of the user when it appears in the filtered results.
  3. Click Update.

8. Click Save

  • Click Save.

9. View Owner

  • View the newly assigned Owner for the selected projects.
