How do I add a new remote site?

The Data Extract feature in PowerSteering extracts data and transmits it over to a Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) remote site. This article describes how to add a new remote site.

1. Click Data Extract

  1. On the Icon Bar click the Admin button.
  2. Click Configuration to expand the menu, then click Data Extract.

2. Click Manage Remote Sites

  • Click Manage Remote Sites.

3. Click Add Site

  • Click Add Site.

4. Click Save

  1. Enter remote site information.
  2. Click Save.

Name: The remote site name.

Address: The IP address for the remote site.

Directory: The directory at the remote site where data extract files should be transmitted to. The authorized user should have permission to write files to this directory. If the directory field is left empty, the default directory for the authorized user will be used to transmit data extract files.

Protocol: The protocol used to transfer data extract files between PowerSteering and the remote site. SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) is the only option available here.

Port: The port on which inbound connections are allowed for the remote site. Port 22 is generally used for SFTP.

Username: Authorized username used to access the remote site.

Password: Authorized password used to access the remote site.

Confirm Password: A second entry of the authorized password used to access the remote site.

5. View Remote Site

  • View the newly added remote site. To ensure that a remote site has been set up properly and connection can be established successfully, click Check connection. See the article How do I check the connection of a remote site? for more information.
