How do I add or update tag values?

Tags are attributes that can be applied to different work object types to enable more refined searching, reporting, grouping, filtering, and sorting. Creating a tag is a two step process. This article describes how to add add tag values, which is the second step in the process.

1. Click Tags

Click Tags
  1. On the Icon Bar click the Admin button.
  2. Click Configuration to expand the menu, then click Tags.

2. Select Tag

  • Click the name of the tag that you want to add tag values to.

3. Click Add/Update

  • Click Add/Update.

4. Add Tag Values

  1. Enter tag value information.
  2. Click Update values.

Note: Additional tag values should always be added at the bottom in available blank lines and the order in which they are to appear should either be defined using the sequence or left blank for alphabetical order. Once a tag value is defined, it is tied to that particular line. If a tag value is replaced with a different value, the new value will replace the old tag value on all work that the tag is associated with.

4.1. Tags with Large Number of Values

  • When you have a plain tag with a large number of values, you can start typing the value you are looking for in the tag field and the list of values will be filtered accordingly.  For a hierarchical tag with more than 50 values, a search box will display under the tag field to allow you to easily search for and select the value you are looking for.

5. View Tag Values

  • View newly created tag values.
