What does the Display tab do?

The Display tab on in the Metric Template Wizard sets the metrics's default display to control how the end user views the metric on the work. This article describes the Display tab.

  1. Enter metric display information.
  2. Click Next.

Display By Default: Determines the starting point and the number of periods forward and backward to display initially. Users can change the display range on the metric worksheets that use this template.

  • Current Date: The metric will display columns from the current date on.
  • Project Start Date: The metric will display columns based on the project start date.
  • First Period with Data: The metric will display columns based on the first period which has data in any metric view.
  • Current fiscal year: The metric will display columns from the current fiscal year.

Totals Displayed: Specifies how to sum up metric values.

  • Never: Does not sum up values.
  • Quarterly: Sums up values quarterly.
  • Yearly: Sums up values yearly.
  • Grand Total: Sums up values over the history of the project.
  • Display Range: Sums up values over the range currently displayed in the worksheet.
