What does the Pin do?

The Pin is used to determine whether the user wants the Navigation Menu locked in the open position.

When the Pin is in the straight vertical position the Navigation Menu will stay open and the page display will be adjusted to appear within frame of the remaining window. This is called the "pinned" position. While in the pinned position the user can click on any of the options on the Navigation Menu to select something new or hover over the Icon Bar options to change the Navigation Menu.

2. The Pin in the Unpinned Position

When the Pin is pointing down to the left the Navigation Menu will disappear as soon as the user moves their mouse away from their selection and the page display will adjust to use the entire window. This is called the "unpinned" position. While in the unpinned position the user can hover over any of the options in the Icon Bar to display the associated Navigation Menu and make a new selection.
