How do I enter data for a metric with tag beneficiaries?

If a metric template has been configured with a tag breakdown, which lets you allocate metrics for one project to multiple tag values, you must select beneficiaries when entering data for a metric worksheet. There are two different types of tag beneficiary configurations. This article describes how to enter data for a metric with tag beneficiaries.

1. Tag Beneficiaries

  • Click Edit Properties.

1.1. Click Beneficiaries

Click Beneficiaries
  • Click the Beneficiaries tab.

1.2. Select Beneficiaries

  1. From the Beneficiaries drop-down menu, select all tag values that you want to include as a beneficiary.
  2. Click Done.
  3. Once all beneficiaries have been selected, click Update.

1.3. Enter Data

  • When a metric template has been configured with a tag breakdown that does not have percent allocation turned on, values are entered for each beneficiary selected. The beneficiary amounts are then rolled up to a total for the line item.

2. Tag Beneficiaries with Percent Allocation

  • Click Edit Properties.

2.1. Click Beneficiaries

Click Beneficiaries
  • Click the Beneficiaries tab.

2.2. Select Beneficiaries

  1. Click the blank line under the tag name and select a tag value that you want to include as a beneficiary from the drop-down menu.
  2. Click Done.
  3. Click the blank line under Distribution (%) and enter the percentage the beneficiary should be allocated.
  4. Repeat Steps 1 - 3 to add additional beneficiaries and allocation percentages.
  5. Once all beneficiaries have been defined, click Update.

2.3. Enter Data

  • When a metric template has been configured with a tag breakdown that has percent allocation turned on, a total is entered for the line item. Each beneficiary is then allocated an amount based on the defined percentage.
